Overview
Himlung Himal is one of the most beautiful mountains in Nepal to climb, just over seven thousand metres, a peak of 7126 m. Located in a remote corner of Nepal near the Tibet border, between the Annapurna and Manaslu regions, it makes a great choice for climbers who want to reach over seven thousand metres.
What makes this expedition special isn't just the summit. Along the way, you'll walk through untouched Himalayan villages, meet local people, and experience Nepali culture and tradition up close — something few trekkers ever get to see.
Technically, Himlung Himal climbing is considered easy and safe for a peak over 7,000 m, which is exactly why it has become one of Nepal's most climbed mountains in this altitude range. If you're looking toward 8,000m expedition, Himlung is the best mountain to climb as your stepping stone.
Himlung Base Camp 4920m
Your home for the climb, Himlung base camp, is set up to keep you comfortable, safe, and summit-ready:
- Single tents for every client — privacy and proper rest matter at altitude.
- A professional chef preparing both local Nepali and Western cuisine
- Experienced climbing Sherpas running hands-on training sessions before the climb
- A traditional puja ceremony to bless the climb and the team, as is customary before any Himalayan expedition
- It's not just a camp — it's the foundation your summit push is built on.
Why choose Himlung Himal?
- Himlung Himal is an iconic 7,126 m, attracting climbers aiming for their first 7,000 m summit.
- Easily accessible, less risky, moderate glacier and rock/ice sections—challenging but manageable for skilled climbers with prior alpine experience.
- Scenic and cultural trek through typical Nepali villages, remote valleys, and pristine landscapes in the Annapurna and Manaslu regions.
- Strong summit potential with proper acclimatisation and setting up Camp III.
How will you Climb Himlung?
The Himlung Himal climbing route runs through three camps above base camp — Camp I 5430m, Camp II 6020m, and Camp III 6350m — and follows a proven rotation-and-summit strategy:
Acclimatisation Rotation
- Climb from base camp to Camp I (5,430 m) and spend the night.
- Push up to touch Camp II (6,020m), then descend all the way back to base camp for rest and recovery.
Summit Push
- Day 1: Climb to Camp I
- Day 2: Climb to Camp II and spend the night
- Day 3: Climb to Camp III and rest before the push
- Day 4: Midnight: Depart around 12 AM for the final summit push
After a successful summit, you'll descend to a lower camp, rest, and continue down to base camp the next day. Once the celebrations are done, you'll trek back to Koto and drive back to Kathmandu.
