Trip Overview

Pisang Peak (6,091 meters / 19,980 feet) is one of Nepal's most sought-after trekking peaks, located in the western part of the Annapurna Circuit. Offering both a challenging ascent and a rich cultural experience, Pisang Peak combines high-altitude trekking with an opportunity to engage with the local culture and natural beauty of the Himalayas. Our specially designed itinerary ensures you not only conquer the peak but also experience the authentic charm of rural Nepal, with a focus on acclimatization and preparation for the summit.

Trekking through Scenic Villages and Acclimatization

Your Pisang Peak adventure begins with a journey through the stunning Annapurna region, where you'll trek through picturesque villages, verdant forests, and glacial valleys. Along the way, you’ll visit traditional settlements such as Pisang Village, a quaint Tibetan-style village nestled at the foot of the towering peaks. The trek through these villages provides a window into the local culture, with the opportunity to observe daily life, customs, and religious practices that have remained unchanged for centuries.

Training and Acclimatization

Proper acclimatization is essential for a successful summit of Pisang Peak. That’s why our itinerary includes careful planning, with ample time for rest and acclimatization at key locations.

Upper Pisang Village: At an altitude of around 3200 meters, Pisang Village is the perfect spot to acclimatize while immersing yourself in the local culture. The village, known for its beautiful monasteries and stunning views of the Annapurna ranges, Gangapurna and Tilicho Peak, provides a peaceful environment for your body to adjust to the higher altitude.

Climbing Pisang Peak: Summit Day

At Pisang Peak Base Camp (approximately 4,380 meters), you’ll begin your climb toward the summit. Our expert guides and Sherpas will accompany you, ensuring your safety and providing the technical support you need to reach the summit. The climb begins with a straightforward ascent but becomes progressively steeper and more technical as you gain altitude. The final stretch involves a thrilling ridge walk and ice and snow climbing, so mountaineering experience is helpful.

During the climbing portion, you will stay in tents above base camp, ensuring a more intimate, comfortable, and secure environment for the summit attempt. You will have all necessary climbing gear provided, along with professional support to guide you safely through the high-altitude terrain.

Food and Accommodation

Throughout the trekking portion of the trip, you’ll stay in local guesthouses run by welcoming families. This offers an authentic experience of life in the Nepali Himalayas and allows you to enjoy home-cooked meals, learn about local customs, and interact with the locals. The tea houses and guesthouses serve traditional Nepali cuisine, including dal bhat (lentil soup with rice), momos (dumplings), and other hearty meals to keep you energized during the trek.

When climbing above base camp, tented accommodation will provide the necessary comfort and warmth in the more exposed and high-altitude environment. These tents are equipped with sleeping bags, mats, and other essentials to ensure a restful night before tackling the climb.

Private Transportation and All-Inclusive Services

To make your experience as seamless as possible, we offer private transportation throughout the trip, including airport transfers and transport to and from the trek's starting point. Our comprehensive service also includes all food and accommodation during the trek, as well as the provision of necessary climbing equipment and permits.

Our team is committed to making your Pisang Peak trekking and climbing experience as safe, enjoyable, and enriching as possible, with expert guides and porters to support you every step of the way. We take care of all the logistics, so you can focus on the adventure ahead.

Itinerary

These are our regular itineraries; please feel free to contact with us if you would like to customise them to suit with your budget and timetable.

We will pick-up you from the airport and transfer to the hotel.

Today is your trip preparation day. Buy and pack all essential items for the Pisang Peak climb and explore around Kathmandu city. In the evening, you will meet your team members and lead guide for a full trip departure meeting. After that, you will enjoy a welcome dinner at a local Nepali restaurant.

Today, early in the morning, our guide will collect you from your hotel by private vehicle. You will then begin a scenic drive from Kathmandu to Besisahar, which takes approximately 6 hours. Along the way, you will pass through beautiful river valleys, terraced fields, waterfalls, and traditional rural villages. There will be a lunch break at Besisahar.

From Besisahar, you will continue the journey by local private jeep on a rough and bumpy mountain road following the Marsyangdi River valley towards Dharapani in the Manang district.

As the drive continues deeper into the Himalayan region, the scenery becomes more dramatic with beautiful views of Lamjung Himal and surrounding mountains. Upon arrival in Dharapani, you will spend the night at a local guest house.

After breakfast at the hotel, you will begin your walk through local villages, where you can experience the traditional lifestyle and culture of the region.

From Timang village, you will enjoy wonderful views of Mount Manaslu, the world's eighth-highest mountain. The trail follows a jeep road for most of the day, with some sections on peaceful trekking paths through pine, bamboo, and rhododendron forests.

Upon arrival in Chame, you will stay overnight at a local guesthouse. Chame also has a small natural hot spring where you can relax and enjoy a warm bath.

Today is a short and easy trekking day. The trail follows a jeep road with mostly gentle and gradual paths, with a few short ups and downs. You will walk through pine forests and pass the small village of Bratang, where you can try fresh apples, apple juice, brewed coffee, and apple pie. Lunch will be at Dhukur Pokhari.

After lunch, it is only about a one-hour walk to Upper Pisang. From there, you can enjoy beautiful panoramic views of the Annapurna range, including the impressive Annapurna II.

Today is your acclimatisation day, which is important for adjusting to the altitude before heading higher. This extra day will also help with your Pisang Peak climb. You will explore the village, visit the monastery above the village, and then rest at the guest house.

Today you will trek to Pisang Peak Base Camp. The trail is steep and takes about 4–5 hours to reach the camp. From here, you will enjoy views of the Annapurna range and Manang Valley. You will stay overnight in tents, and our team will prepare fresh meals in the kitchen tent.

Today is an acclimatisation day. After breakfast, you will hike up to High Camp and return to Base Camp. This helps your body adjust to the higher altitude and prepares you for the summit climb. Proper acclimatisation reduces the risk of altitude sickness and increases your chances of a successful summit.

Today you will climb to High Camp and stay overnight. The trail is steep and rocky, so please walk slowly and steadily at high altitude. It takes around 4 hours to reach High Camp. After arrival, you will have plenty of time to rest before the summit climb. You will go to bed early and wake up around midnight. Our team will prepare breakfast before you begin your summit push.

Today is the summit day. You will wake up at 1:00 am and leave high camp by 2:00 am for the summit climb. Our climbing guides will fix ropes on the most difficult sections to ensure a safe ascent. Reaching the summit usually takes 5–7 hours, depending on your pace. After the summit, you will descend to base camp. If you arrive early and feel strong enough, you may continue down to Pisang and stay there overnight.

This is a contingency day. Although we have planned the itinerary carefully, bad weather or altitude sickness can sometimes delay the summit climb. This extra day gives you more flexibility if needed. If you do not use it on the mountain, you can spend the day in Kathmandu. Hotel accommodation with breakfast is included.
